Taste the Hunter - an example travel itinerary:

Travel to the Hunter Valley Wine Country, Australia's oldest wine producing region. Stop in at Tamburlaine, a charming boutique winery regarded as one of the most innovative and quality conscious wineries in the area, for an informative introduction to their wines. Next stop McGuigan, a name synonymous with the Valley. Experience their fine wines and other local produce including the gourmet cheeses from the Hunter Valley Cheese Company and the delights of the Chocolate and Fudge Shop. The experience at McGuigans is unique and not to be missed.

Lunch beckons and we recommend Harrigan's! With the ambience of a traditional Irish Pub it's a great way to relax with friends and savour fine food at a great location. In the afternoon stop in at Tyrrells, the oldest family owned winery in the Hunter.

Experience traditions of yesteryear walking amongst the 100 year old vats and soak up the atmosphere as you taste their award-winning wines. Ivanhoe Wines is a new, boutique winery and the perfect way to toast the Hunter. From the decks of their beautiful winery, enjoy the magnificent vineyard views and their premium wines. In the late afternoon bid farewell to the Wine Country!

Don't forget the above is suggested only. You can select the wineries of your choice, (subject to availability), and we'll design a day in the Hunter exclusively for your group. Our staff can offer advice on wineries, travelling times, pick up locations and itinerary planning. Keep in mind that as a group you must be pre-booked into all the wineries and again, we are happy to make these arrangements on your behalf.

There are so many great cafés and restaurants in the Hunter that it is difficult to decide which one to choose. Remembering the Wine Country is a rural setting we strongly recommend including lunch in your package to ensure your group are catered. Again we are happy to offer advice, provide sample menus and costs. Café San Martino at Hunter Estate, Elizabeth's at McWilliams, The Grill at Rothbury Estate, Hunter's Retreat and Wyndham Estate are just a few of the places that come highly recommended from past groups.

Coming from Sydney? Why not return via Historic Wollombi? It's a charming turn of the century village full of Aboriginal, Convict and Bushranger legends and is a scenic diversion from the Freeway. We can arrange a guided tour of the village or you can just wander the arts 'n crafts and speciality stores at your leisure. Stop at the Tavern and try the infamous Dr. Jurds Jungle Juice - if you are game! Of course there's more to see and do in the Hunter! We have a range of touring ideas available in and around Wine Country and beyond.
